One route to demonstrating achievement in competency sets is through completing approved courses covering competency sets.  This page shows you all of the courses that have been approved for the program, and is updated often.  Once you successfully complete an approved course, you will receive a Certificate of Course Completion to upload your CAR.

The LSSC Program does not offer any courses; instead the program approves courses from providers of library education. Providers will include but are not limited to: library educators, community colleges, state library associations, state libraries, regional library cooperatives, ALA divisions and other units, and individual consultants.

Providers can include but are not limited to: library educators, community colleges, state library associations, state libraries, regional library cooperatives, ALA divisions and other units, and individual consultants.

All approved courses are offered through providers who set the fee for their course.  Payment for these courses is separate from the registration fee to become a candidate in the LSSC program.

For more information about each course, click on the name of the provider listed under Course.
