One route to demonstrating achievement in competency sets is through approved courses.

LSSC approves courses in the competency sets upon application from providers of library education. Each approved course must cover an entire competency set.

Providers can include but are not limited to: library educators, community colleges, state library associations, state libraries, regional library cooperatives, ALA divisions and other units, and individual consultants.

The LSSC Program does not offer any courses.  All courses are offered through providers who set the price for their course.  Payment for any courses is separate from the registration fee to become a candidate in the LSSC program.
