Competency Sets
The LSSC Advisory Committee developed ten competency sets
- to standardize expectations for academic and public library support staff;
- to give education providers guidance for developing courses or training curriculum; and
- to help employers articulate job requirements.
An LSSC candidate must achieve the three required competency sets and three more of the elective competency sets. Candidates can achieve the competency sets by taking approved courses or by creating a portfolio.
